About the studio

I’m Meg Hodson, founder of Nutmeg Studio and a Verified Shopify Partner since 2019. My boutique studio designs Shopify stores for product-based brands that want clarity, structure, and a site that supports how they sell.

With nearly a decade on the platform, I understand Shopify’s strengths and limitations, and how to build stores that scale without unnecessary complexity.

I focus on conversion through considered design, clear structure, and thoughtful content. Technical foundations (from SEO to shipping logic) are handled properly from the start.

The process is collaborative, calm and defined. You’ll work directly with me throughout and leave with a store you understand, supported by clear tutorials and practical guidance.

A 10% deposit reserves your project start date. I take on limited Foundation projects per month to maintain quality.

We move through planning, design, and execution over 3-4 weeks — with you involved at key milestones.

Step 4: Launch and celebrate

Your store goes live, you receive training, and you have 2 weeks of support as you start selling.

Foundation Package includes strategic planning support at the start, then I handle the execution. Expert Partnership Package includes ongoing 1:1 consulting sessions throughout the build, premium themes, extended customization budget, and 30 days post-launch support (vs. 2 weeks). Foundation is professional execution with guidance; Expert Partnership is collaborative partnership throughout.

Yes. The Foundation Package includes Shopify's free Horizon theme, which I fully customize to your brand. If you prefer a premium theme (R3,000-R9,000 depending on the theme), we can add that to the package. Premium themes offer advanced features like mega menus, advanced filtering, or specific layouts. I'll advise during our discovery call whether a premium theme would benefit your specific needs.

I provide content structure and guidance on what each page needs to communicate, but full copywriting is not included. You can provide the content, or I can recommend professional copywriters who specialize in eCommerce.

Yes. I train you on content updates, product management, and basic customizations. You'll have recorded tutorials to reference. Day-to-day management is designed to be within your control without technical knowledge.

A: You'll need to provide your website content, approve the design direction, and be available for check-ins. But I handle all the technical heavy lifting and development.
