Shopify Design & Development Packages

Three ways to work together, depending on where your business is now and what your store needs to do next.

You don't need to know which one you need. Tell me about your business and I'll recommend the simplest option that will do the job properly.

Package 1: Launch

A beautiful, well-thought-out Shopify store without unnecessary complexity.

Price Guide: R30,000 ZAR ($3,000 USD for international clients) · 3–5 weeks

For new and early-stage brands with up to around 30 products, straightforward eCommerce needs, and their branding, photography and content ready to go.

The Details

Launch is a complete Shopify store built using one of Shopify's free themes.

Rather than designing everything from scratch, I work with the theme's existing sections and features, refining the typography, colours, imagery and layouts around your brand.

There's still plenty of thinking behind it. I'll consider how your store should be structured, how customers will move through it, how products are presented and what information people need before they're ready to buy.

The result is a polished, professional Shopify store that's easy to shop and straightforward for you to manage.

Good to know: Launch is intentionally streamlined. It doesn't include bespoke design, custom-coded sections or complex functionality. Your brand assets also do a lot of the visual work, so good photography, copy and brand content need to be ready before we begin.

If you need more creative freedom or functionality, Momentum is probably the better fit.

Package 2: Momentum

More design freedom for brands ready for a better Shopify store.

Price Guide: From R52,000 ($5,200 USD for international clients) · 6-8 weeks

For established and growing brands that need more than a straightforward theme-based build.

The Details

Momentum starts with a carefully selected premium Shopify theme, then takes it further.

This is where we can look more closely at what's happening across your store: how customers navigate your range, how easily they can compare and choose products, where they're hesitating, and whether the website is doing justice to the brand you've built.

There's more freedom in the design, with theme customisation, custom-coded sections and details where they add value, more considered product and collection pages, additional functionality and the option for more comprehensive eCommerce SEO.

The goal is to work out what would make the store better, then build that in.

Good to know: This is where most established brands fit. You already have a strong product and / or brand, but you've outgrown what a basic website can do.

If the complexity sits deeper than the design, for example a major platform migration, large catalogue, wholesale, subscriptions or international selling, we'll usually move into Bespoke.

Package 3: Bespoke

For bigger eCommerce businesses with more complicated problems to solve.

Price Guide: From R88,000 ($8,800 USD for international clients) · 8-12 weeks

For established eCommerce brands that have outgrown their current website, platform or systems.

The Details

Bespoke isn't a fixed package. The scope is built around your business.

Projects might involve migrating a large catalogue from WordPress or another platform, completely restructuring an existing Shopify store, building more complex product journeys, setting up wholesale or B2B, subscriptions, international markets or integrating Shopify with other systems.

This is also where the less visible work becomes particularly important.

How should 500 products be organised so customers can actually find what they need? Which filters are useful and which just add noise? How should different markets or customer groups shop? Which apps do we genuinely need? How do we make a complicated business feel straightforward online?

There's more time for strategy, UX, development and testing because there are simply more moving parts.

Good to know: I take on only one Bespoke project at a time. These builds need a deeper level of involvement from me throughout, from the early thinking and structure through to development and launch.

Bespoke isn't the choice for someone who simply wants a more beautiful website. It's for businesses where the complexity of the eCommerce problem requires a more considered solution.

What's the difference between the packages?

The simplest way to think about it is how much design, strategy and complexity your project needs.

Launch keeps things simple. We use a free Shopify theme and its existing functionality to create a polished store around your brand. Best for new businesses with smaller catalogues and straightforward requirements.

Momentum gives us more design freedom. We start with a premium theme, then customise it much more extensively around your brand, products and customers. Best for established brands that have outgrown a standard Shopify setup.

Bespoke starts with the problem rather than a package. It's for larger migrations, complex catalogues, advanced functionality and established eCommerce businesses where there are more moving parts to think through.

Thoughtful design. Less complexity.

A good Shopify store isn't just about choosing the right theme or making the homepage look beautiful.

It starts with understanding what you're selling, how your customers shop and what might be getting in their way.

That can mean restructuring a 500-product catalogue so products are easier to find. Simplifying navigation. Rethinking a product page so the important information is obvious. Cleaning up an app-heavy setup. Making mobile shopping easier. Or simply knowing what not to add.

Then comes the design. Clean, considered and specific to your brand, with every element there for a reason.

Behind the scenes, I build with the same thinking: a solid Shopify setup that's easy to understand, straightforward to manage and ready to grow with your business.
