I’m Meg Hodson, founder, Shopify Partner and conversion-focused web designer.

I’ve been working in eCommerce since 2010 for a diverse range of businesses, from enterprise-level national brands to small shops bravely starting out. 

I've gained a deeper insight into what’s working, and what’s not, and now I’m here to hold your hand, so you too can launch an amazing online store that helps your brand grow.

My Approach

Great eCommerce design is about understanding how people buy your products. I combine Shopify design expertise with a background in communications and digital marketing to build stores that look and work beautifully.

Before specialising in Shopify, I spent years in publishing and communications. What I learned? Clarity beats cleverness. The best websites don’t try to impress - instead they guide, inform, and remove the frustrating barriers so your customers can shop with ease.

Nutmeg Studio is named for the spice that adds warmth and depth without ever being overpowering — which is how I approach my work. Every store I build is thoughtful, polished and purposeful.

What drives my work

I started Nutmeg Studio because too many well-crafted products were being held back by websites that didn't reflect their quality. DIY stores that look amateur. Slow, hard-to-use platforms that frustrate customers and store owners. Amateur design hurting brand credibility.
