Vincent da Silva - Squarespace to Shopify Migration

A refined digital gallery for this acclaimed South African sculptor and visual artist.

vincentdasilva.com
The Challenge

Vincent da Silva needed more than a portfolio site - he needed a sophisticated eCommerce platform that could sell large-scale sculptures and artworks to an international collector base.

His existing Squarespace site wasn't built for serious commerce. Payment integration for South African merchants was clunky, product management was limiting, and the design didn't convey the premium, museum-quality nature of his work.

The challenge: Create a digital gallery that feels like a high-end art space while functioning as a powerful eCommerce store—clean, minimal and easy to navigate.
The Solution

We migrated Vincent's site from Squarespace to Shopify and built a gallery-style store designed for collectors.

Our approach:

Minimal, gallery-inspired design — Each artwork gets space to breathe. No clutter, no distractions.

Strategic product presentation — Large, high-quality images, detailed dimensions, edition information, and context for each piece.

Seamless South African payment integration — PayFast configured for local and international transactions.

Collector-focused experience — Clear pricing, availability, commission enquiries, and shipping for large-scale works.

SEO-optimised — Comprehensive keyword targeting so collectors searching for South African sculpture and contemporary art can find Vincent's work.

Easy self-management — Vincent can upload new works, update availability, and manage content without technical help.
Results & Impact

High-ranking SEO — The site now ranks prominently for targeted keywords like "South African sculptor" and "contemporary sculpture South Africa."

International-ready commerce — Built to handle enquiries and sales from galleries, collectors, and institutions worldwide.

Refined aesthetic — A digital space that matches the calibre of Vincent's work—sophisticated, minimal, professional.

Scalable platform — As Vincent's portfolio grows, the site grows with him.

The Result

Vincent da Silva now has a digital gallery that positions him as the established, internationally-recognised artist he is—one that attracts serious collectors and makes purchasing sculpture as seamless as buying any other luxury product.
