On the home front, the last few months have been hard. We’ve been living in a damp, leaking, moldy house. The roof leaked in every room; water came up through the floor and the house flooded in June and September. My daughter had a cough for weeks. Our landlord didn’t share any of these details before we moved in. It is the worst house I have ever rented or lived in.
We said farewell to that house last weekend and moved into the coziest, sweetest little home. The last week has been heavenly. Our new home is neat and uncluttered; everything has a place and I have made sure to give away many of the things we don’t need (still a work in progress). This new home brings me joy. I wake up happy and grateful. I love cooking wholesome meals in the lovely light kitchen space. The ocean breeze flows through the house all day. I feel renewed.
On the work front, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people these last few months:
I collaborated with The Noordhoek Farm Village team, helping them redesign their WordPress website into a fresh, modern, simple and user-friendly space. Take a peek here – https://thefarmvillage.co.za/
I helped Richelle from Soul of Africa Travel transform her 10-year old website into a beautiful online space that she’s now proud and excited to share. View live here – https://soulofafricatravel.com.
I designed and developed a brand new website for Bush Hill Cheese – https://bushhillcheese.co.za. This project is close to my heart because I grew up in these beautiful hills and remember adventuring and picnicking where these cows now graze. This is one of the loveliest corners of the world; lush green meadows, indigenous forests, rolling hills, peace and quiet. It’s a special place; just like the Bush Hill Cheese range.
I helped Nilene plan and create a Shopify online store for her startup business – Boepie & Co. View this charming website here – https://boepie.co.za.
I partnered with Gitta, founder/brand designer at Drosty Street, and the SenseSana team, to develop their new website into a functional, mobile-friendly space. This was a deeply fulfilling project for a future-focused business. View the beautiful result here – https://sensesana.co.za/
What next
This year has been strange and interesting. While my home space has been challenging, I’ve witnessed profound personal growth. Much of this I attribute to my workout regime. Over 2 years ago I began exercising consistently and it has become a habit. The benefits have flowed into all parts of my life. I am more confident, happier, calmer, and disciplined. Big dreams are becoming achievable in small steps. I’m learning what it takes to live a fulfilled life that makes me happy.
As we move into the festive season, we have space for two new website projects for the rest of the year. Get in touch to chat about your website requirements.
Sincerely,
