The Brand

Bags of Bites is a charming South African business renowned for its delicious range of artisanal rusks, biscuits, and cookies. Crafted in Cape Town, their products are sold nationwide in supermarkets and prominent online retailers like Faithful to Nature and Wellness Warehouse. And their Oat & Cinnamon Crunchies are the best I’ve ever had!

The brand reached out to our studio, looking for a Shopify website redesign. Goals for the new website included: Improving the conversion rate, average order value and engagement.

Designing an impactful homepage

First Impressions Count

Your website has mere seconds to convince visitors to stay and browse, making a strong first impression crucial.

The old Bags of Bites homepage was bland and uninspiring.

Our redesign introduced bold, happy pops of color and mouth-watering product photos. The new homepage highlights the brand’s bestsellers, story, and popular dietary ranges, including sugar-free and vegan options. 

It clearly communicates what the brand sells, builds trust, and encourages visitors to explore further.

Project Highlights

We revamped the user experience by implementing an intuitive navigation menu and shop filter system, making it easy for customers to understand the product range and quickly find what they want. Speed is essential in online shopping, and Shopify’s performance-focused functionality ensures the website loads quickly on all devices.
We integrated our favorite Shopify reviews app, Junip, into the Bags of Bites website. Junip automatically sends a review request email a few days after a purchase. Its beautiful, mobile-first interface makes leaving a review a satisfying experience for customers. Since launching in June, customer reviews have increased, boosting brand credibility.
To encourage customers to add more products to their cart, we prominently displayed offers across the website, including a free shipping progress bar in the cart drawer.
We integrated the Bags of Bites website with Omnisend and designed a beautiful welcome automation that triggers when someone subscribes to the brand’s mailing list. This includes a 10% discount code to incentivize sign-ups. We also designed an abandoned cart sequence to encourage customers to complete their purchases.
We connected the website with Google’s Shopping Feed, ensuring the brand’s product range appears in the Google Shopping tab when someone searches for their products. This is a fantastic way to increase visibility in search results, and it’s a free Google service!

The Result

The end result is a beautiful and bold new Shopify website designed to convert. This project has been incredibly rewarding, and the before-and-after snapshots clearly show how we’ve helped Bags of Bites launch a stunning, functional Shopify store that boosts online sales.
